The Best Paid Survey Sites for Fast Money in 2020

The Best Paid Survey Sites for Fast Money in 2020

There’s a certain appeal to paid online surveys.

Prop up in bed and click, click, click — cash out.

Heck, you can even earn money while binging on Netflix.

That’s why you might want to flip on Netflix in the background.

Still, there’s something thrilling about making extra money from your bed.

I’ve combed through dozens of platforms to hand-pick the most legitimate online survey sites that pay and to help you avoid the scams.

These are the Best sites based on user experience, the ease of cashing out and the actual potential to earn money.

Disclaimer;   I believe in transparency and want to disclose this page has links to products that I may earn an affiliate commission for purchases you make.  The reader pays nothing.

The Best Paid Survey Sites — That Are Actually Legit

I suggest signing up for these paying survey sites all at once. Check into each a few times a week to find at least one or two surveys you qualify for.

Remember: Every little bit adds up.

1. InboxDollars

Screen capture of the InboxDollars sign up page.

InboxDollars, owned by CotterWeb Enterprises, Inc., is a survey site that actually pays you in dollars — not points — so you can see exactly how much you earn.

BBB rating: A+

Payment method: Check via mail

Amount paid per survey: Surveys pay up to $5 each, though it’s more likely you’ll earn 10 to 50 cents.

Minimum amount required to cash out: $30, though there’s a $3 transaction fee to cash out.

Time to get paid: 10 to 16 business days

Pros: With InboxDollars, you earn cash, so you don’t have to worry about exchanging points.

It also offers more ways to earn, such as watching videos, playing scratch-off games and searching the internet.

Cons: You have to earn $30 to cash out, which is a bit high compared to other sites on this list. Also remember you’ll have to pay that $3 transaction fee. You’ll probably want to unsubscribe from its frequent emails, which you can do under your account settings.

2. Survey Junkie

A screenshot of Survey Junkie's homepage.

This survey site is owned by Blue Media Ventures, Inc. and says it has more than 3 million members.

Survey Junkie is strictly focused on market research through surveys.

BBB rating: B+

Payment method: Points, which you can exchange for gift cards or cash via PayPal, Dwolla or direct deposit

Amount paid per survey: 20 to 200 points

Minimum amount required to cash out: 1,000 points, which equates to $10

Time to get paid: Up to 24 hours through PayPal; bank transfers can take longer.

Pros: Compared to other survey sites, the threshold to cash out is a bit lower at $10. If you qualify for five 200-point surveys, you’ll earn $10 in no time (though that’s not the most realistic situation). The platform itself is clean and easy to navigate.

Cons: Like other survey sites, you might have a difficult time qualifying for opportunities. And although you might find 200-point surveys, you’ll also find ones that only reward you 35 points for a 14-minute survey. That equates to 3.5 cents for 15 minutes of your time.

Pro tip: Once you sign up for Survey Junkie, you’ll start banking bonus points. If you take all the profile surveys, which will ideally help match you to opportunities you qualify for, you can earn an easy 200 points or so.

Tips to Make the Most From Survey Sites

First, pile your couch with pillows and get comfy. Turn on some tunes or play Netflix in the background.

But seriously. You’re going to want to settle in and practice patience with survey sites. To make the process more efficient, here are a few of our pro tips:

Create a New Email Address for Surveys

It’s no secret: Signing up for a survey site means you’re likely going to get an influx of emails. These could be ads or earning opportunities.

Either way, it can really clog up your work or personal email.

Create a new email address for free through Gmail or Yahoo.

Now these additional emails will automatically stay clear of your real life.

Never Pay to Join a Survey Site (or Enter your Bank Info)

You should never have to pay to join a survey site. These sites are paying you, because you’re participating in market research and helping companies out.

Additionally, you shouldn’t have to enter your banking information. Legitimate sites pay with gift cards, through PayPal or with an old-school check in the mail.

Answer Honestly, and Update Your Information Often

You’ll qualify for certain surveys based on your demographics.

For example, a company might be looking for homeowners to answer a question about their product. Or another might only want parents.

Either way, be honest. Sure, you can be vague and broad in your responses (recommended), but honesty is the best policy.

Additionally, be sure to keep your profiles on these sites up to date. If you move, update your city. If you get a new job or a salary boost, update that. It could help you qualify for more opportunities.

Use Roboform to Auto-Fill Responses

You know how survey sites ask you the same questions over and over and over, especially when you’re first signing up?

Using a free auto-fill platform like Roboform can help. You’ll enter your information into its system once, then it’ll recognize when that question is being asked and automatically fill in the information for you. This will save you a bunch of time.

Additionally, you can use Roboform to save your passwords — because let’s be honest, no one can ever remember passwords.

Secret Tips to Save DOUBLE at Thrift Stores by an EX- Goodwill Employee

August 22, 2019 by Frugal Prof

How to Save DOUBLE at Thrift Stores by EX- Goodwill Employee

1. Connect on Social Media to Learn About Sales

First and foremost, he shared that staying up to date with your local Goodwill is the key to knowing the inside scoop on daily, weekly and monthly sales. Sounds too easy, but believe it or not, not many people do this. So make sure to sign up for their local mailing list so you’re always in the know.

It’s also a good idea to keep up with your local Goodwill’s Facebook page (if they have one) as they often post current sales, coupons, and special events. As an example, here’s the Goodwill of Southern Nevada Facebook page.

Not only will you be the first one to know about special sales, but you’ll also receive coupons on occasion and learn when they have store freebies. For example, last week at our insider’s store, teacher’s could get a free book with any purchase and they also hosted a kid’s club where all kids could score a free toy or book with any purchase!

2. Go to the weekly color tag sale days and pay as low as $1!

That’s right! Every week all Goodwill locations have a special color tag sale day so make sure to keep up to date on their website or next time you head in-store. For example, here’s a specific Goodwill store page that lists their current and upcoming sales. You can expect to see sales anywhere from 30%-50% off and sometimes even tags that sell for just $1 each!

3. The Early Thrifter Gets the Best Stuff

It’s probably no news to you that some people make a living on buying cheap stuff at Goodwill and selling it for a profit reselling items on Ebay and Amazon.

Learn about making side money on Amazon here

Sometimes stuff is priced for way less than it’s worth (unknowingly) therefore the good stuff is sure to fly out the doors.

Since employees price new items at night, make sure you’re the first person in the door so you can get to the really good deals first.

And don’t forget to always ask an employee about current sales every time you shop!

4. Shop the Goodwill Outlets AKA The Goodwill Bins for the Best Deals (check out my Youtube Video for the Best Strategies!)

Something a lot of people don’t know is that Goodwill makes an effort to ensure items don’t end up in landfills so one major way you can contribute is to shop at one of their Clearance Centers. Here you will pay a low cost by the pound, rather than paying for each item individually.

So if you’re stocking up on some pretty lightweight stuff, be prepared for some big savings!

For more info on their clearance centers the Goodwill Bins, click here.

To find your nearest Goodwill Clearance Center, head to their store locator and type in your zip code.

You’ll then need to scroll down until you find a store that’s called a “Clearance Center”.

Senior and Military Discounts

In order to save on your future purchases, you’ll just need to sign up for Goodwill’s free rewards program, which you can do at your local Goodwill store. Note that these sales and days stated below can vary by location, so make sure to check out your location before you head to the store.

For military members: At my local Goodwill, military members can save 10% every day on all their orders.

For seniors: If you’re a senior over 55 years old, you can shop certain days to get anywhere from 20% to 40% off.

If you’ve been avoiding a drop off at your local Goodwill, now is the perfect time to find out what the best day actually is. At most Goodwill locations, they host special donation days, where you can receive a pretty sweet coupon to use on your next shopping trip.

It’s a win, win – drop off your unwanted goods and received money off when you’re ready for something new.

6. VIP Voice

vip voice screenshot

VIP Voice is owned by market research company NPD Group, which has been around since 1966. It exclusively offers survey opportunities. You’ll earn points and use them to enter sweepstakes for cash and prizes.

BBB rating: A+ (but not accredited)

Payment method: Points to enter sweepstakes

Amount paid per survey: Typically 100 to 225 points

Minimum amount required to cash out: You can enter sweepstakes with as little as one point and cash out your winnings anytime.

Time to get paid: Varies

Pros: You’ll earn points from a variety of surveys, even if you don’t qualify to take the entire survey. Additionally, you’re not plagued with pop-ups or ads, and you won’t be navigated away from the VIP Voice portal.

Cons: You don’t automatically win cash or gift cards. This survey site requires a little luck, because you’ll have to enter sweepstakes and bid on prizes, so it could be a big waste of time.

  • Never pay for a survey site. Any legitimate survey site will ever ask for your payment information.
  • Sign-up bonuses. While not all of the good survey sites give you a bonus just for registering as a new user, it’s definitely a great incentive. Sometimes they can be as high as $5.
  • Payment Thresholds. Most survey sites require you to reach a minimum balance before you can cash out.
  • Be aware of this when you first sign-up. I’ve seen some for as little as $5 and some as high as $50. Yet keep in mind that those with a higher payout threshold usually pay much better.

  • How and when they pay. This may be important depending on how quick you need the cash. I’ve seen survey sites pay out only once a month, whereas with others you can request a payout at any time.
  • Furthermore, keep in mind what type of compensation they pay, whether it be gift cards or PayPal deposits. All of the sites have at least paid me once.
  • Privacy. Most of the time you don’t have to worry about this. Survey sites typically keep all of your answers anonymous, so there’s no way to link your opinions back to you. I made sure that all survey sites on this list meet this criteria.
  • Don’t forget to verify your email. When you register with the majority of these survey sites,
  • they’ll require you to verify your email address.

Back to School Tax Free Shopping Dates for 2019

June 18, 2019 by Frugal Prof

Jobs SAHM

Many states suspend the collection of state, county or local sales tax for a few days each summer during back to school tax free weekends.  This can help families keep a bit more money in their own pockets when getting the items your child needs for school.

If you do plan on shopping on any of these dates, keep in mind that the stores will be very, very busy.  It can be a scene similar to Black Friday when it comes to the number of people who shop.  You have to decide if you want to deal with it or not by determining the savings.

For example, if sales tax is 10% where you live and you spend $600, you can save a total of $60.  For some, it is not worth the chaos of shopping with that number of people. For others, it is well worth it.  Only you can decide what works for you.

Below, you will find a sales tax map. To find out if your state participates, simply place your mouse on it.  If the pointer shape changes then you are in luck!  Your state participates and you can click to go directly to that states’ details including included and excluded items as well as the dates when the sales tax holiday will be offered.

This is the one period of time where states sales tax is suspended on the purchase of select items.

  • Clothes
  • Shoes
  • Select Electronics (computers, tablets)
  • School Supplies
  • Backpacks
  • and more!

ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS?

There are often purchase limits placed on items.  For example, sales tax suspension may apply only to the first $100 on shoes you buy.  That means, if they cost $120, you will pay regular sales tax on $20 of your purchase.

DOES THIS MEAN ABSOLUTELY NO SALES TAX?

No. It does not.  Cities and counties may still collect sales tax on your purchases.  The tax-free weekend only applies to state taxes.  You will need to check with your local jurisdiction to find out more.

And she’s not alone.  According to Goodwill, which operates used goods stores across the U.S., donations in some cities like Washington and Houston have jumped nearly 32% since her show began.

Some items are new.  A store manager in Houston tells the story of a man who came in with his girlfriends shoes – Gucci and Prada- still in their boxes with price tags upward of $1,000.  The girlfriend was waiting to go shopping for new shoes.

So, with items that can be purchased for pennies on the dollar and then re-sold on Ebay, resellers stand to benefit from a big increase in donations.

So what are some tips from Kondo on Tidying up?

Throughout her decluttering career, Marie Kondo has developed six basic rules for tidying. These simple items are the basis of her brand — but if you apply them to your household, you may just see results.

Marie Kondo’s six rules for tidying are:

  1. Commit yourself to tidying up.
  2. Imagine your ideal lifestyle.
  3. Finish discarding first.
  4. Tidy by category — not location.
  5. Follow the right order.
  6. Ask yourself if it sparks joy.

As millions put Kondo’s plan into action and declutter their lives of excess stuff including books.  Most are happy and feel a sense of relief.  I read the book and found it a very useful and helpful practice.  However, some wound up regretting their donations.  Especially in the book category.

“I deeply regret Marie Kondo-ing my books a few years ago, just in case anyone is toying with doing the same!”  Said one viral tweet.

The fact remains, that one person’s junk is another person’s treasure.  And if you’re willing to do the work and hustle, finding valuable items at thrift stores and res-selling them on platforms like Amazon and Ebay can be quite profitable.  And a simple and effective side hustle.

Amazon FBA tips below:

Why do I like selling on Amazon & EBay so much?

Here are five reasons:

1. It’s easy. Find stuff you already own, take pictures, add a listing, and a week later you have cash.

2. You control the entire process.  You get to choose the minimum price you are willing to accept, you control how much time you want to spend on it, you control when the auctions will end, it’s all controlled by you.

3. It creates cash quickly.  You can receive money for your items in 3-7 days.

4.  It is a reminder that you’re buying stuff you don’t really need.  The next time you think about buying something, you can remember the items you sold on Ebay.

(More on this from my post, Why We Buy What We Buy here.)

5. You find out the real value of items.  All these items we buy depreciate immediately and lose much of their value.  Seeing the sale price of items on Ebay is a nice reminder that our purchases retain little value.

Its anyone’s guess how long this de-cluttering trend will last.  However, with all of the attention from her Netflix show, I wouldnt be surprised if it lasted a long time.  And that’s good news for people looking to simplify as well as those looking to earn some extra money as a side hustle.

Amazon Jobs: Amazon is Hiring 3,000 Remote Workers in 2019

March 11, 2019 by Frugal Prof

amazon FBA experiment

Amazon announced plans to hire 3,000 remote workers in 18 states.

Amazon is ranked sixth on the 2019 list of “100 Top Companies with Remote Jobs” for the number of at-home jobs the company listed in 2018.

Employing more than 90,000 people, Amazon is a Fortune 500 company and is ranked by Forbes as one of the most innovative companies in the world, among many more accolades.

The job listing for customer service associates, posted on March 4th, indicates that the role pays $15 an hour, provides health care coverage after 90 days of employment and offers overtime pay.

Amazon customer service associates earn $15 per hour, and the company requires paid mandatory training for any new employees.

The role generally consists of 20 to 29 hours per week of work, though that number may go up to 60 hours per week during large-scale events or peak seasons. Overtime pay is 1.5 times the base rate of $15 per hour.

After 90 days of employment, customer service associates become eligible for a healthcare coverage plan.  Amazon jobs info here

Amazon is considering job candidates who live in 18 states:

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas,

Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana,

Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska,

New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma,

South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas,

Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming

Amazon Remote Worker Job Details:

The part-time work-from-home role “generally consists of 20 to 29 hours per week, with the expectations to work up to 60 hours a week if there is a customer need,”

and specifies that workers cannot live in a zip code that is within 50 miles of an Amazon customer service site.

Amazon is paying $15 an hour, which is at the higher end for the types of customer service roles that we typically see.

It is also unique for this kind of part-time customer service role to provide health coverage, and that these kinds of positions can provide opportunities for upward mobility.

The customer service associate role includes supporting Amazon customers via phone, email and instant messenger and does not require any education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent.

Amazon indicates that it is looking for workers with previous customer service expedience, logical problem-solving skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

“There’s a lot of different backgrounds that could fit with this type of role, as long as you have a history of communicating and helping to solve problems and you feel like you’re able to work in fast-paced environment,” says an analyst.

“There isn’t really one background that fits, which is kind of nice because a lot of different people could qualify for this type of role.”

Amazon is also hiring for other remote positions, such as technical account manager, migration lead, front-end engineer, program manager and security consultant.

Part-time job answering back-to-back calls for worldwide reservations. Open nights, weekends and holidays; flexible schedule required. (Glassdoor salary estimate: $10/hr)

Amazon Retail Arbitrage Update: Tips for Making Money Now

March 7, 2019 by Frugal Prof

Amazon FBA Update: Tips for Making Money Now.

I began this journey to test whether I could really make money in Amazon FBA.  I didn’t know the answer.

(Read my earlier posts on how this experiment began) here

And here we are, about six months later and the sales are starting to grow.

Within the last 30 days, I’ve sold over $1,500 in items on Amazon and EBay.

Find Tips to sell on EBay here.

Disclaimer;   I believe in transparency and want to disclose this page has links to products that I may earn an affiliate commission for purchases you make.  The reader pays nothing.

It’s a nice amount of extra income and I’ve learned so much.

To show you what I’m selling and which items can make you money, I’ve created a quick video.

I think you will like it and if you do, please Like & Subscribe

I am going to try to update videos on a consistent basis on making money with retail arbitrage.

So, definitely subscribe.

Why This Side Hustle is Great:

Flexibility:  I love that I can work on this side hustle whenever its convenient for me.  It’s very convenient and profitable. I can go to a few stores during my lunch hour and make extra money whenever I want.

I drop off packages at my mail box store first thing in the morning or usually when they open around 9 AM.  It’s easy and it fits perfectly into my day.

I list items on Ebay while watching TV.  This allows me to make money whenever I want.   And if I get burned out, then I scale back on what I’m doing.  It’s that easy.  Its flexible and very convenient.

I can go to an estate sale or garage sale Saturday morning and make $200 in profit for an hour or two of “work.”  It’s not really work at all because it’s interesting and I’m also learning about what items are worth.

The more you use the Amazon app or Ebay app to see what Items have sold for, the easier it is to make more money.  What other side hustle can you make a couple hundred dollars in a few hours on a Saturday morning?

How to Learn From Me As I Grow:

I believe the best platform to continue sharing this journey is through Video.

So, I will be expanding and growing my YouTube Channel.

Retail Arbitrage:  Of course, if garage sales or thrift stores aren’t your thing, there are many ways to make money.  I have also done retail arbitrage.  Where you buy clearance or discounted items and then sell them.  There are good profits in retail arbitrage, but it takes more capital to get started and it takes more skill.  Garage sales are still a great way to make money and learn in my opinion.

One of my best Amazon flip came from a garage sale.  A man was selling two new Schlage door fixtures.  New in the box.  From Home Depot.  I offered $25 for two and then sold them on Amazon FBA for $95 EACH!   For 10 minutes of “work.”

Garage sales are great because people really just want to get rid of their stuff.  It’s not about getting the best price.  They just have too much stuff and want it gone.  Estate sales are similar, but they can be more fixated on price.  It all depends.

My advice is to go early.  The early bird does get the worm.  I get great deals at garage sales because I’m able to wake up early and show up.  It’s pretty simple.  Yes, you can do well if you show up at 11:30AM but the best deals are found at 8:30AM.  That’s the truth.

Tools I recommend:

These are very helpful tools to get started:

  • Quality Shipping Tape- Will save you money.  Don’t buy the cheap stuff.
  • Label Scraper (amazingly helpful to remove price tags quickly and without danging the item).
  • Poly Mailer Bags for shipping.  These will allow you to send items First Class mail and save money.
  • Good Bubble Wrap  If items break, you wind up losing money.  So bubble wrap protects your investment.
  • Mister Clean Magic Eraser– To clean up books – These are handy for many different items including cleaning shoes.
  •  Quality and affordable shipping scale
  • A higher quality shipping scale
  • Quality  Lights for Ebay:  These were on sale ~$35 and they are great for the money.
  • Better pictures = higher profits on Ebay.  Lighting is very important.
  • Shirt Folder:  Makes it easier to fit clothes in the poly bag and saves money over time.  Makes everything much more polished.  More here.
  • Dolly/ Cart for Books & Boxes:  Here
  • Handheld Scanner:  here
  • Air Pillows for Shipping Here
  • Thank you stickers:  Because positive feedback is important here.

Make it Easy:

When I go to a store looking for books or items to sell on Amazon, I just put in my earphones and listen to a book from audible (right now it’s the biography of Ben Franklin), and it makes it easy.

Try Audible and get two books Free.  More here.

That’s what I like.  And then I scan the items to see which ones will make me money and after 30 minutes or 45 minutes, I’ve found $150 worth of profit.

And the time has flown by.  Find what works for you.

Watch the Amazon Fees:

Everything with Amazon FBA and selling on Ebay comes down to fees.

Shipping fees, storage fees, listing fees.

Learning the cost of shipping is really important.  I’ve learned the hard way to avoid selling large items that are expensive to ship (unless they are really profitable.)  I made $185 profit on a VCR/ DVD combo and didn’t mind shipping that item.  Other large items, not so much!

Learn what to sell:

I’ve tried selling everything.

I really wanted to be open to selling any item that can make me money.

On Ebay, I’ve now sold:

  • womens shoes,
  • clothing,
  • food items,
  • electronics,
  • sunglasses,
  • books,
  • dvds,
  • sneakers,
  • household items
  • tools
  • and more.

Pay attention:

Some items that I think will sell just sit in my Ebay store.  And others fly off the shelves.

For example, I’ve been experimenting with buying women’s running shoes to re-sell for a profit on Ebay.  I’m having a hard time getting people to pay $65 for some Adidas sneakers.  But, the flip flops I bought have all sold.  I sell three times as many pairs of flip flops as running sneakers.  What’s more, the flip flops are easier to ship and cost much less.

What’s Next?:

I’m hoping to keep scaling up this business until I get in the $2,000-$3,000 range.

In order to do that, I think I will need another 5 hours per week.  In addition, I need my items that are in Amazon’s warehouse to Sell.  Of course, I have no control over that.  So, finding cool items to sell is something I can control.

How to Make Money Selling on Amazon in 2019- Tips and Update

How to Make Money Selling on Amazon in 2019- Tips and Update

I’ve been very busy.  My Amazon FBA Experiment is now in its Fourth Month.   I’ve learned a lot about Amazon FBA and selling on Ebay as a professional seller.  So, here is a progress report and some tips on making money in Amazon FBA in 2019.

  • Disclaimer;   I believe in transparency and want to disclose this page has links to products that I may earn an affiliate commission for purchases you make.  The reader pays nothing.

amazon FBA experiment

Update:

Yesterday was my biggest day in terms of earnings on Amazon FBA.  I made $136.  My 30 day average sales are now at $571.  And My Ebay earnings are now averaging around $1,800 per month.

So, my revenues for both Amazon and Ebay reselling side hustles is averaging about $2,300 per month.  This is not profit.  This is before fees and expenses.  But, selling and re-selling using Amazon FBA & Ebay can be very profitable with some hard work and focus.

More here.
  • Dolly/ Cart for Books & Boxes:  Here
  • Air Pillows for Shipping Here
  • Thank you stickers:  Because positive feedback is important here.

Invest in the right tools:

Many people think, I don’t really need a lighting kit  or Quality Shipping tape or multiple sizes of poly bags.  But, the truth is quality photos will make you more money and having the right tools saves you time.

Quality Photos make you seem more professional and easier to trust with a purchase.

Having the right size bags to ship will save you money, and also time.

If you don’t have the right size bag handy, then you’ll probably waste 20 minutes rummaging around your home looking for a bag to ship an item.  It may not fit and it may damage the item.  Investing in the right tools not only saves money, it saves time as well.  (See below for tools I recommend).

Keep Learning:

This leads me one of the best things about this side hustle- you can earn while you learn.

In the previous example, I will make money from all of these items when they sell.  It’s just that now I know that some items are easier to sell and will make more money for me.  So, I can make better buying decisions and hopefully, make more money over time.

The learning curve is fast.  I believe you can really start making pretty good money in reselling in 80 days.

Organize your bookkeeping:

Gotta do it.  For 2019, my goal is to have everything entered into a spreadsheet within two weeks of the end of the month.  This will allow me to learn what’s selling as well as where I’m making the most profit.  All of this data helps improve the business and make more money with less effort over time!

Get the right tools:

As I write this, I just sold a Yankee Candle Spray.  After entering the details in my spreadsheet, I see that the net profit after Ebay fees and paypal fees is only 76 cents.

Now that I have the data, I realize I made a mistake by not bundling two of these sprays as a package.

This would have doubled my profit due to the shipping fees etc…

My new target is to avoid items priced for less than $10.  Smaller items are less profitable and just as much work.

Keep Learning:

I recently added a video on YouTube that describes what I’ve been making money on lately.  Lots of good information here.

(And please Like and Subscribe!)

Keep Looking for New Resources:

I’ve mentioned that I am also selling on Poshmark.  It’s not a big sales venue yet, but it has the potential to be.  I’m open to selling on any platform.  I have also sold an item on Facebook Marketplace.  So, it pays to keep looking for new venues.  This also lessens my dependency on Amazon and Ebay.

You never know if Amazon FBA will change their rules and make it harder (or less profitable) to sell through their platform.  Don’t put all your eggs in one basket is sound business advice.  Your mother was right.

Mistakes:  I could easily do a whole post on mistakes I’ve made. (Comment below if you’d like that). One that comes to mind was a toy I bought 6 weeks before the holidays.  It was supposed to be a hot toy.  So I bought 3 of them.  They’re sitting right now.

And other buyers who thought the same thing have lowered their prices to the point where no one is going to make money.

At best, I will break even on these LOL Surprise  OOTD Outfit of the Day Toys.  Yes, I’m still learning and making mistakes.

Hustle Pays off:

When I first started looking for items to sell, I would go to one or two places like a thrift store or book sale and that was it.  Now, I try to hit a bunch of places all at once.

It makes it so much easier and profitable.  I wish I had known this when I started.

Now, the minimum number of places I will check is three and sometimes I will visit 5 or 6 places.  This way, I always find items to sell and it helps reduce my Amazon FBA shipping fees.

When I started this experiment, I expected to list 40 items a month on Amazon.  Now I realize in order to get more profit and reduce the shipping costs, I need more like 100 or 150 items a month.  Quality, profitable items that will sell.

I hope you enjoyed this update.  Let me know in the comments below!
