  • ▪Time: Ipsos values your time. If you are disqualified, you’d know it right away. I can’t say the same thing for others.

2.  Become a Certified Closing Agent.

You Earn Extra Income,  Set your Own Hours, and the Income is Fantastic! ($75-$200 per appointment).

• First of all, it’s really good money! You can make $75 to $200 in a single signing, and a signing takes about an hour. Total work time including preparing and driving to the signing is about an hour and a half to two hours when you’re starting out. And a lot less as you become more experienced.

Part time loan signing agents generally do one to three signings per week, – about $300 to $500 dollars extra a week. while full time agents can do 3-8 signings in a day which is about $400 to over $1,000  dollars in a day.

  • You can start part-time and work around your existing work schedule since most signings occur on evenings and weekends.  Simply pick up work when you want, and keep your day job.

• You can get started with absolutely zero experience. There’s no resume checking prior to a loan signing. You are hired simply based on your location in proximity to the loan signing.

• You can work from home and be your own boss. Owning your own business can allow you to take advantage its many benefits, such as tax write-offs.

• You have the ability to make money almost immediately.

It pays nearly 9X more than driving for Uber.  However, it requires you to take a class and invest time and money.

If you can do that, then you can start making up to $200 per signing.

3. Get paid to charge Scooters

Bird electric scooter side hustle

Electric Scooter Charging: A New Side Hustle from Bird Pays $30/ Hour

Mike Wisell, 33, a tattoo artist who lives in Santa Monica, started a new gig a few weeks ago. He charges scooters and he makes pretty good money doing it.

Bird is among a handful of companies that rent out electric scooters to get around big cities. The site uses a team of “chargers” to pick up the scooters when they’re running out of juice, bring them home, charge them and return to a “nest.”

Training was simple:

  • sign up,  (No affiliate relationship)
  • take an online video course,
  • receive a set of tools in the mail,
  • then get to work.

He even picks his own hours.

“The pay is pretty good if you hustle,” he says.

3. Hilton, Remote Reservation Sales

Part-time job answering back-to-back calls for worldwide reservations. Open nights, weekends and holidays; flexible schedule required. (Glassdoor salary estimate: $10/hr)

This isn’t likely to be the job that gets you rich. At an estimated $10 an hour, and on a part-time schedule, you probably wouldn’t even hit the $21,000 annual salary you’ll find estimated on Glassdoor. But, if you needed part-time, work-from-home work at an entry level, it could make sense.

Fast-paced, sales driven, inbound call center position performed through a videolink system. Full-time position, with with possible shifts 8 am-8 pm EST, 7 days a week. Bonuses available. (Salary estimate from GlassDoor, $11/hr)

The estimated hourly rate isn’t much higher, but the fact that this is a full-time position obviously increases potential annual earnings.

5. Westat, Field Recruiter

Seeking individuals in FL to act as field recruiters for individuals to participate in a Social Security Administration study. Requires local travel. (Salary estimate from Glassdoor, $15/hr)

The estimated potential salary seems about the same as the previous job, but given the local travel requirement, you should be able to either get reimbursed for mileage or take a tax deduction. Do that right and you should come out ahead.

6. Capital One, Senior Customer Service Representative

Field inbound calls and provide customer service in FL or VA. Requires H.S. degree, GED, or military service experience. (Salary estimate from GlassDoor, $33,000)

According to the job listing, this comes with the potential for medical insurance, paid time off, maternity leave, a retirement plan, and even continuing education.

Survey Junkie:  You can earn points through Survey Junkie and redeem them for cash or gift cards.  They give you 25 points just for filling out your profile.  Expect to make about $3 per survey.

7. Rosetta Stone, British English Online Language Instructor

Seeking a native British English speaker to conduct energetic online courses. Voice audition required; teaching experience desired. (Salary estimate from GlassDoor, $17.50/hr)

As the salaries increase, of course the job requirements and skills increase, too. They’re pretty specific about wanting native British English speakers here. Maybe you can binge watch episodes of The Crown or Downton Abbey to fake it–but I doubt that will work. If you can work out 40 hours a week doing this, you’d hit $35,000 per year.

“American Consumer Opinion Panel has been one of the best, and probably THE best, panel that I have worked with in some time…” J.D., Texas –

8. Great Au Pair Services Manager

Responsible for overseeing operations and fiscal matters for Great Au Pair USA. Provides high level customer services and conflict resolution, reporting to the Vice President of Program Operations. (Salary estimate from GlassDoor, $36,000)

I think the key phrases here are “high level customer services” and “conflict resolution. For this kind of position, the estimated pay is good, but it seems like you’ll earn it. Of course, you’ll be working from home.

9. Xerox Applications Evangelist, Global Imaging Services

Lead the business apps expansion for small and medium businesses. Full time, regular virtual employee; does require travel. (Salary estimate from GlassDoor, $48,000)

This might be more accurately a “don’t work in the office” job than a “work from home” job. But the estimated salary looks like it’s higher, in order to compensate.

10. Amazon, Connect Specialty Consultant

Amazon Web Services is looking to hire consultants with experience in enterprise call centers. Requires 10+ years experience as an IT enterprise architect in customer-facing roles. (Salary estimate by GlassDoor: $113,000)

A caveat on this one: it’s a little difficult to find the exact same job on Glassdor, so the estimate here is for a position that seems somewhat similar. Of course, at these higher salary levels, we’re probably talking about a range, to be honest–with room for negotiation.

Quality Survey Companies that really pay:

The great thing about paid surveys is that you can do them anytime. Many people enjoy doing paid surveys at home.  These are legit paid surveys.  These survey companies are free to join and free to use! You get paid to answer surveys and to test products. It’s best to sign up for as many as you can, as that way you can make the most money and earn the most cash.

Survey Junkie:  (Great Surveys, Little Time, Great Payout)

The only downside about Survey Junkie is that they don’t come with a sign-up bonus. However, by sticking to the higher-paying ones, you can earn anywhere from $12 – $18 per hour.

Survey Junkie has one of the strongest reputations on the web, and I don’t see them going away anytime soon. They have always paid on-time and the right amount. Not only that, but they have excellent customer service if you ever have an issue.

You always know how long and how much a survey will pay. There are plenty of surveys, so stay away from the ones that don’t pay well to earn a decent amount.

Some survey sites are known to take you halfway through a survey only to tell you that you’re not eligible to proceed, hence wasting your time. Survey Junkie usually tells you this within the first 2 questions.

  • Benefits:
  • • Stick to higher-paying surveys and earn $12 – $18 per hour
  • • Strong reputation for a survey site
  • • Will always know how long a survey takes and how much it pays
  • • Great customer support
  • • Plenty of surveys to choose from and they frequently update their site with new ones

You can earn points through Survey Junkie and redeem them for cash or gift cards.  They give you 25 points just for filling out your profile.  Expect to make about $3 per survey.

Vindale Research: ($2 Registration Bonus)

Vindale Research is by far one of the best survey sites due to the fact that surveys can pay as much as $75 per survey. However, these surveys are quite rare and people usually earn closer to $10 – $12 per hour.  More about Vindale Research here.

While there are plenty of high-paying surveys, there are also plenty of low-paying ones. To make it worth your while, don’t bother taking surveys that don’t pay well.

When you complete your profile you get a $2 sign-up bonus. Furthermore, there are usually plenty of surveys to take and you can setup email notifications when new surveys come out. Sometimes you can even take the same survey 2-3 times a day.

Amazon FBA Week 2: $274 Worth of Beginners Luck with Retail Arbitrage

July 30, 2018 by Frugal Prof

amazon experiment

Week 2:  Amazon FBA / Retail Arbitrage Experiment:

It’s week 2 and Ive been busy learning about Amazon FBA. I guess the headline is $275 worth of beginners luck from a box of old books at a a garage sale. But, let’s review everything I’ve been learning: the good and the bad.

Getting set up:  The Amazon FBA platform was a little trickier than I expected. I decided to use a professional seller account and pay $39.95 per month. Go big or go home, right?

Well, I decided to use an LLC and Amazon wanted documentation like a drivers license and copies of my bank statements. And there were a few days of back and forth with documents. Don’t let this deter you from starting– just know it may take a few days.

“Congrats you’re now an Amazon FBA seller.”

And within 5 Minutes, Amazon charged my credit card their $39.95 professional seller fee. Time to get busy!

I immediately downloaded the Amazon seller app – loaded with helpful information and plotted my strategy as I waited for the weekend.

As I said in the launch post, I’m trying to do this as a normal side hustle, so mainly on the weekend.

Read the Launch post here.  and find side hustle ideas here.

I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of people walking into stores and making big profits. In reality, it was not so easy. Would you like me to make a  Youtube video series?  Let me know in the comments.

Saturday: My first stop was my local 99 cent store. I started thinking about doing Amazon FBA when I was there. They had a bunch of Star Wars items for 99c that were worth $9 or $10 on EBay. Piece of cake, right?

Well, Not so fast. The Star Wars Items we’re gone and then it took me a long time to scan the other items. All of the name brand items like Despicable Me napkins and Disney Toys were “restricted” to me said the Amazon app.

amazon FBA experiment

I bought some stuff anyway. My thought process was that I could see if I was able to flip these items on EBay.  Tips to sell on Ebay here.

Takeaway: I got a bunch of items that I’m listing on EBay and none that I could use for Amazon FBA.  I will give updates on how the items are selling.  Most items were 99c and Im looking to sell them for ~$5-$7.

Nothing great- but if you sell 1,000 items at a $5 profit, then it’s $5,000.

Scan Everything: It took a while to scan items. The advice from retail Arbitrage Youtubers was to “scan everything.” Because you never know what can sell and be profitable. Good advice and soon I will know from experience which items can be sold profitably.

For now, I rely on the Amazon and EBay apps. This also means when my WiFi is down, my business stops. More on this later.

Restrictions:  As a new Amazon seller, many categories are restricted. It may take a while for me to get “ungated.” This is the term for being allowed to sell in certain categories like groceries or personal care. Amazon is strict with selling  brands like Star Wars and Disney because they are cracking down on counterfeits.

I get it, but I am paying Amazon $39.95 a month for the professional service, and if too many categories are restricted, it may not be worth it for me. We will see.

Sunday: On the way to the grocery store, I notice a family setting up a garage sale. Perfect timing. Luckily, I had my phone with me so I could scan.

It was only 7 A.M., so I was one of the first people there. I went straight to the books, since that is one of the better categories for new Amazon FBA re-sellers like me.

Cook books: lots of cook books. Julia Child, Frugal Gourmet, Food and Wine. Too many.

Boxes of cook books. My head was spinning. I’m the first one here.  I get my pick of all these great books.

It’s 7 A.M. and I have my pick of the whole garage sale.

I have an unanticipated problem: cash.

It’s a garage sale. All they take is cash. I only have $13 in my car.  It’s 7 AM on a Sunday.

I realize if I’m going to do this Amazon FBA /re-selling thing I will need to keep extra cash in my car for garage sales/ Estate sales.

I keep trying to scan books without attracting attention to myself. I find three that are good and I try to remember the others, so I can do a tactical retreat, research, and return better prepared.

Tactical retreat: I Buy three books that seem good for $3 including an old French restaurant guide. I tell the owners I may come back and they tell me if I buy more books, they will give me a discount.

It’s 7:40 and more people are now perusing the garage sale. My window for the big score is closing. Did I blow my chance?

I’m too new to know if I’ve missed an obvious diamond in the rough. There are some old French cook books. Other cook books seem brand new. Beautiful, glossy pages.

I quickly head home to get cash and use a strong wi-fi signal to research re-sale prices on the Amazon app.

Julia Child, Martha Stewart, Food and Wine. All the books are $1.

It’s impossible to mess it up. Right?

What am I missing? Is it really this easy? Did I just get lucky?

“Buy everything. Go back and Buy everything. What are you waiting for?”

Don’t mess this up.

It’s now nearly 8:00 AM and I’m trying to decide the smartest thing to do.

I have a wad of cash at home. I grab $60, a water, quickly put my grocery food in the fridge, and race back to the garage sale.

I’m trying to decide the best strategy. I decide to buy as many as I can, since everything seems like profit. I have a large beach bag that will hold a lot of books.

Do I buy a box or try to negotiate a deal for ALL of the books?

Back at the garage sale: I decide to buy a lot of books.

There are now many people going through the items.

I am back. I tell the woman I am learning to cook. I add the most beautiful glossy books in the best shape to my bag. That is my strategy. The bag gets heavy quickly. Big, heavy cook books.

Which ones do I pick? It’s hard to scan a book with an owner behind you. It’s strange.

“Hello I’m here to pick your inventory clean and re-sell on Amazon for a profit.”

It’s not very neighborly.

I try to stick to the books in the best condition. Some seem new.

I add a gigantic Julia Child book.

And The Frugal Gourmet cookbook.

Gordon Ramsey’s book is not worth that much. I leave it. I am learning.

I have about 40 large, heavy cook books in my bag. We agree on $25. I am leaving about 75 books. I tell the woman I may come back later.

Will the best books be gone?

Have I bought all the best books?

I shoulder my bag of 35 pounds of cook books back to my car.

Even though I know nothing, I am still pretty confident that I have crushed it at this garage sale.

The Big Score:

As I hoped, This French book was worth a lot according to my Amazon seller app.

It was one of the first three that I bought.

When I got home, I was able to check the Amazon seller app again. I was ecstatic.

garage sale books Amaon FBA

A Beginners luck home run.

$274.47 for a non Amazon FBA seller.

Amazon FBA: Theoretically, I should always be able to get a higher price because my items will include free shipping and Amazon customer service.

It was thrilling.

I paid $1 for a book worth $247.47!

I’m loving Amazon FBA.

I’ve scanned one book and I’m up Big.

And I still have 30 big glossy cook books to go.

I’m trying not to calculate my potential profits.

$600?

$1,000?

Is this just a one time beginners luck situation?

I keep scanning the books I bought using my IPad in the kitchen.

Back to reality: The big glossy books I scan are not giving me such great results.

The Amazon profitability calculator shows me the potential profit  after Amazon’s fees. These books are old and heavy. Amazon charges a lot to store them. As I check Amazon, I realize there are lots of copies of these books. And lots of sellers.

I realize some of these books are not profitable.

Many of these beautiful, glossy cook books with MSRP of 29.95 or $39.95 are worth about $8.

Is it possible to lose money on a .50c book?  Yes.

After Amazon fees, they are worth almost nothing. No profit.

This Williams Sonoma cook book is worth only .12 after fees.  I thought a brand name like Williams Sonoma would be valuable.  I was wrong.  I keep learning.

Amzon profitability calculator

Not so easy: I’m quickly coming back to earth. It’s not going to be that easy.

Julia Child is not very profitable. Martha Stewart same.

I realize that I now have a box of beautiful old glossy cook books that aren’t worth anything.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do with them. Maybe a giveaway on the Frugal Prof blog? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

I watch more YouTube videos to learn more about valuing and selling books.

I learn that a book will sell quickly at a rank of 1M or less.

My French $275 book has a rank of 5Million.

Ugh. It will take a long time to sell.

It Might never sell.

I try to stay positive.

And keep scanning.

I start scanning books I have in my home.

One of my coffee table books could be worth $100. Nice.

A book I own on psychology is worth $30.

Some are high sellers and worth a fair amount.

I’m building a box of books to send to Amazon.

I set a goal to prepare my first box to send to Amazon by the end of the weekend.

I try to assess what Ive learned.

I think Ive made a solid profit.  But, I’ve made a lot of mistakes as well.

Now, I need to learn how to add inventory to the Amazon juggernaut.

I want to see how long it takes to sell these books.

And I will definitely be sharing the results with you.

Cash surveys

Scooter Charging: New Side Hustle Pays $30/ Hour – Bird and LimeBike

June 14, 2018 by Frugal Prof

Wisell represents a new type of independent contractor in the gig economy: a charger for Bird, one of a proliferating number of electric scooter start-ups.

Competitors have scrambled to add scooters to new markets, and the big three companies—Bird, LimeBike, and Spin—have more than $200 million in venture capital funding and aggressive expansion plans.

These companies have expanded in Nashville and Charlotte over the last few months.

These workers, all independent contractors, represent a new facet of the gig economy, and all enjoy the job and the ability to make money with a flexible side hustle.

How It Works:

‘Do you like to make money while you sleep?’

Residents of Venice Beach, California have likely spotted Bird contractors working in their neighborhood.

A pick-up will drive by, with a stack of Bird scooters packed in the truck bed.

Or, a scooter rider may roll by with a rider balancing two or three additional out-of-commission scooters resting perpendicular on the scooter’s deck.

These are the chargers, independent contractors who keep the electric scooters running by charging them at their homes or apartments (a competitor, LimeBike, calls them “Juicers”).

One of the advantages of dockless scooter systems like Bird is decentralization; the vehicles have no fixed docks, and go where riders are.

The contract workers who charge Birds do the same.

Workers sign up online or via the Bird app (the website asks, “Do you like to make money while you sleep?”).

After a phone interview to discuss the job, chargers are mailed a set of charger cords—three to start, according to chargers and more as they prove reliable and develop a good track record.

Where:

  • Los Angeles,
  • San Francisco,
  • San Diego,
  • Seattle,
  • Chicago,
  • Dallas,
  • Washington, D.C.,
  • New York,
  • Austin,
  • Miami,
  • Denver,
  • Atlanta,
  • Boston

Requirements: Have a smart phone; working electricity and be available during set hours to find and return Bird scooters.

For that, the site will pay between $5 and $20.

The easy ones –noted in green on the app — pay $5; the ones that are a little harder to find will pay more.

Yellow birds pay $10; Red ones, which are hard to find, pay $20.

“Chargers say the pay varies based on how hard the scooter is to find”

More Tips to make Money Charging Scooters:

Pro tips

To get the most out of the side hustle, insiders offers three tips:

1. Work with a team. There are a lot of moving parts when you’re hunting for scooters: You’re constantly checking the map for the highest-value Birds, navigating to different locations and then trying to spot the scooter, which can be visible or hidden.

That’s why working with at least one other person can be helpful, says Campbell: “One person can be driving, while the other person is looking at the map.”

Plus, “especially in L.A., it’s hard to find a parking spot,” he says. If you’re working as a team, though, the driver can double park and wait in the car while someone else grabs the scooter.

While you’ll have to split your earnings as a team, you’ll also be able to find more scooters more efficiently.

2. Invest in the right gear. A magnetic phone mount for your car is a game changer, says Campbell. It allows you to safely look at your screen while navigating and, when it comes time to scan the QR code and capture the Bird, you can easily detach your phone from the mount.

He also recommends bringing a flashlight to help spot the scooters at night and, if you’re looking to charge a bunch at a time, get a surge protector.

3. Go out at the right time. You can pick up scooters anytime during the day, but the optimal time is between 9 and 10 p.m. That’s when “Bird releases most of the scooters and they become available for capture, so that’s when you want to go out,” says Campbell. “If you go out during the middle of the day it might be a lot tougher.”

The more you charge, the more you’ll get a sense of what areas in your city have the most scooters available to pick up. You’ll also get better at spotting them. On multiple occasions, Campbell was able to see the scooter from his car, while I struggled to find them even after getting out of the passenger seat.

“There’s definitely a learning curve,” he says, adding: “It’s not like rocket science, but if you go out and do it one night [for the first time], you’ll probably be like, ‘Man, this job sucks.’” But, “the more experience you get, the more scooters you can pick up and the more money you can make.”

Ford is buying in:

Ford is buying dockless electric scooter company Spin for $100 million, according to Axios. It had initially been reported that the acquisition cost $40 million, which is roughly what Spin was valued at after its Series A funding last year. Reuters reports that Ford has committed to making a $200 million investment in the startup.

In my opinion, this is a good side hustle.  It’s easy to begin and it pays pretty well for now.

However, as more people find out about it, the pay may go down.  A better option is a side hustle that pays better because you have a skill.

Like becoming a Certified Closing Agent.

  • You Earn Extra Income,  Set your Own Hours, and the Income is Fantastic!
  • You can make $75 to $200 in a single signing, and a signing takes about an hour.
  • You can start part-time and work around your existing work schedule.

  • You have the ability to make money almost immediately.

Learn More about the Loan Signing System here.

Kelley, a Los Angeles resident, says she figures it costs about 25 cents in electricity to charge each Bird and she can easily pick up two in a 15 to 20 minute time span.

Since there’s no work involved in plugging them in, it’s a low-maintenance gig that can pay a decent return.

Bird allows Chargers to charge up to 20 Birds per day, which could earn you between $100 and $400 (if you found those illusive “red” labeled Birds that pay $20.)

One caveat:  As more people find out about this side hustle, the pay could come down.  For now, it is still Very Early and New, but down the road, it could happen.

Some estimates have this side hustle averaging about $30 per hour.

Cash surveys

The Highest Paying Survey Sites:

  • Survey Junkie (Great Surveys/ Great Payout/ Earn $12-$18/ Hour)
  • Vindale  ($2 sign-up bonus and high-paying surveys)
  • American Consumer Opinion:   6 Million Members (My nephew makes $150-175/mo with ACOP)

What their Chargers say:

“It’s pretty easy to make $20 a night just picking up a few Birds and plugging them in. But I live in an area (Santa Monica) where there are a lot of them in use, so it’s a short walk to find them.”

Harry Campbell, who runs a website about driving for Uber and Lyft, created a step-by-step guide to becoming a charger. The company caps the numbers of cords per charger at 20, and each requires a $10 deposit.

Once they’re set up, chargers use the app to hunt down scooters, finding Birds low on energy, and bringing them home to power them up.

  • Finally, the one thing that the terms say and the Chargers confirm is that you have to drop the Bird’s off to a “nest” by 7 a.m.
  • If you’re late, you need to keep the Bird an extra day and it could affect your pay.
  • All Birds need to be nested within three days, according to the terms, or you could be charged for keeping the scooter.
  • That said, this is one of the few gigs where the terms are tougher than worker experiences.

Venture Capital is buying in;

With Lime valued at about $1 billion and Bird reportedly raising money at twice that valuation, venture capitalists are betting that this fledgling market will grow rapidly as people working downtown and attending college on big campuses recognize a new affordable and efficient way to get around.

“It is actually the closest thing we have today to last-mile autonomous transportation,” said Kyle Lui, a principal at DCM Ventures, which invested in Lime.

“It can get you to a location faster than any other form of transportation.”

But for every promoter of this futuristic view, there’s a dissenting voice saying that the unit economics will never work, and e-scooters will go the way of the Segway, not the skateboard.

Residents of San Francisco, San Diego and Santa Monica have seen so many scooters pop up that the market already feels saturated.

But in the vast majority of U.S. cities — the ones that Uber took years to hit — the idea of residents opening up an app that’s linked to their credit card and flying down sidewalks and bike lanes on a battery-powered scooter for a couple bucks remains a completely foreign concept.

Simply pick up work when you want, and keep your day job [click here to read why it’s the perfect part time income].

• You can get started with absolutely zero experience. There’s no resume checking prior to a loan signing. You are hired simply based on your location in proximity to the loan signing.

• Next, you can work from home and be your own boss.

Learn More about the Loan Signing System here.

These work at home ideas are ranked in order of potential pay, either based on what was mentioned in the job listings themselves, or else in some cases by using estimates from Glassdoor.

2. Hertz, ExpressRent Sales Specialist

Certified Closing Agent.

You Earn Extra Income,  Set your Own Hours, and the Income is Fantastic!

(Earn $75-$200 per appointment).

•You can make $75 to $200 in a single signing, and a signing takes about an hour. Total work time including preparing and driving to the signing is about an hour and a half to two hours when you’re starting out. And a lot less as you become more experienced.

  • Part time loan signing agents generally do one to three signings per week – about $300 to $500 dollars extra a week and full time agents can do 3-8 signings in a day which is about $400 to over $1,000  dollars in a day.
  • You can start part-time and work around your existing work schedule.
  • You can get started with absolutely zero experience.
  • You can work from home and be your own boss.
  •  You have the ability to make money almost immediately.
  • What is required: In order to earn 9X more than an Uber driver, you need to invest your time and money to become a loan signing agent.  Pretty straight forward.
  • But, the truth is that 95% of people want to make $100 an hour, but won’t invest their time and money to make it happen.
Learn More about the Loan Signing System here.

3. BrainFuse Careers, Online English Tutor

BrainFuse partners with colleges and universities to provide customizable online tutoring options. They’re looking for paper reviewers and live online English tutors. Flexible hours, requires college degree and one year of writing experience. ($12/hr — credit: The Penny Hoarder)

Again, the potential pay creeps up. At $12 an hour, you’re not going to retire young, but if you could pull together 40 hours a week at that rate, you’re looking at about $24,000–but without ever having to leave the house.

4. GameTime, Fan Happiness Associate

Customer service representative for new app focused on ticketing for major sporting and music events. College degree, experience with Windows and Zendesk (or other ticketing systems) required. 40 hours a week, 8 hour shifts, work from home. ($15/hr — credit: The Penny Hoarder)

At this potential salary, working out to roughly $30,000 per year, you’d be earning more than the average 20 to 24-year-old worker in the United States.

Make money by traveling the world as a photographer:

American Consumer Panel:  Easy to sign up. 6 Million Members.  Reviews of American Consumer Opinion:

“American Consumer Opinion Panel has been one of the best, and probably THE best, panel that I have worked with in some time…” J.D., Texas –

“I do surveys for several different companies and, I have to say, American Consumer Opinion ranks at the top as they have a very good site with no junk [that] seems to be well managed.”  H.B., Tennessee –

11. Salesforce, Strategic Account Manager

World’s #1 CRM is looking for sales-focused individuals in the Financial Services and Health & Life Sciences teams. WFH in CA, CO, GA, MN, NY, TX. (Salary estimate from GlassDoor, $127,000)

Great news: that $127,000 estimated salary is just the base; there’s likely to be a significant amount of commission involved, too. It’s a sales job, so of course you’d better know how to sell. Yes, it’s limited to six states–these jobs are listed largely to give you examples.

In this post we reviewed the details of 17 of the Best work at home companies hiring.  These are legit companies that appreciate the talent of people who choose to work at home.  I hope you found something that suits your skill set.

I would suggest you use a free service to check your credit score periodically.  Credit Sesame is free to signup and takes only 90 seconds.  If you want to keep a closer eye on your credit, get your credit score and “credit report card” for free from Credit Sesame.

7. Sell unused items on Ebay:

I’ve written a complete post on how I used Ebay to make $493 in one month.  Lots of tips and help to get started.

Ebay is still one of the simplest ways to increase cash quickly.  Find items you and your family are no longer using, take pictures, list them, and get cash.  An extra $150 per month is possible from a minimal amount of work.

8. Rent out a Room on Airbnb:

Have a spare room? Might as well use Airbnb to make some money by renting it out.

AirBnb :   Fund your next travel excursion by renting a room with Airbnb

If you’re a good host with a desirable space, you could add hundreds — even thousands — of dollars to your savings account with Airbnb.

AirBnb Tips:  Make your space available during high-demand times in your area. Think: concerts, conventions and sporting events.  Be a good host and make sure your place is stocked with the toiletries you’d expect at a hotel — toilet paper, soap and towels.  Be personable. A lot of travelers turn to Airbnb for the personal touch they won’t find at commercial properties.

If you can rent your place for $100 a night just 10 nights a year, you’ll bank a cool $1,000 over the year.

9. Sell All Your Stuff With These Apps

Are your closets and shelves packed to the brim with stuff you never use — or even look at?

You can sell virtually anything on Letgo. This intuitive app lets you snap a photo and upload your item in less than 30 seconds. Not only does it remove a lot of the hassle of selling things online, it’s 100% free to use.

But there are also apps for selling more specific stuff to people who might actually be looking for it.

Decluttr:   Fast, easy way to sell CD’s, video games, electronics and more.  Easy to use and  Rated “Excellent” as a trustworthy site.  Give it a try.  Have a bunch of movies or CDs collecting dust on a shelf? Decluttr will pay you for them!

Decluttr buys your old CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and video games, plus hardware like cell phones, tablets, game consoles and iPods. Plus, enter FREE5 at checkout to get an extra $5 for your trade-ins!

Set a goal to make an extra $100 decluttering your place this month, and add it to your bank account — every little bit helps!

Bonus:  Negotiate Discounts on Your Subscriptions

We all sign up for stuff. Sometimes it’s easier to put subscriptions on a recurring payment and forget about it — yes you Netflix.

These kinds of payments can be smart for paying bills and cutting down debt, but getting rid of the subscriptions you’re not using and socking away the savings could help you roll over the $7,000 mark this month.

Review my post on how to negotiate discounts with the companies you’re currently using.  You’ll be surprised by how many of them will work with you.  I was able to cut my XM Sirius bill in half and save over $100 just from one phone call.  Read more negotiating tips here.

I’m sure you agree there are many ideas here that can get the ball rolling to help you have a huge surplus in your bank account come the end of the year.  There is no need to do them all at once.  Begin with one per month and the cash and savings will snowball in your favor.   Put all these strategies to use and you could save more than $7,000 this year!
